"Bomb Rally"[1] is a theme from Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land for the Sub-Game with the same name. It was composed by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

Composition[edit]

A non-threatening game of tennis.

"Bomb Rally" is a playful and energetic theme in C minor and 4/4. It is one of many themes to take inspiration from the Mini-Game theme from Kirby's Dream Land 3, as well as "Battle with Friends: King Dedede" (its rhythmical and melodic patterns specifically). This theme is relatively short, consisting of two section: the first is repetitive and tends to seek resolution upwards, and has a high-pitched descending counterpoint. The second follows queue and peaks before rapdily moving down while keeping the rising intonations. A loud conclusive section lands on the dominant, after which the track loops.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land[edit]

In its debut appearance, the theme plays during the Bomb Rally Sub-Game.

Kirby: Canvas Curse[edit]

In Kirby: Canvas Curse, "Bomb Rally" plays for the Line Trial game mode.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]

In Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, a remix of "Bomb Rally" with the same name plays during the eponymous Sub-Game once more. Additionally, the original version of the theme serves as the secret song version.
