“Flapping to new horizons!”

He hates spending every day stuck in a bird cage and decides to see how high he can fly! And just that easily, he’s off to find freedom. Fly high and fast!

— Guest Star Birdon Freedom in the Sky Pause Screen description in Kirby Star Allies

Birdon is a flying bird enemy found in a handful of Kirby games. He is a small multicolored bird with an aviator's cap and goggles on his head. While he can come in many colors, he is most often seen with a magenta body, green and yellow fringes on the wings, and an orange tuft of hair with orange feet. His eyes are very large and round, and his beak is bright yellow. His name is a derivation of "bird".

Birdon flies around, shooting feathers at Kirby and occasionally trying to ram him. In his helper form, he has all the abilities of Wing Kirby. When Kirby swallows him or scans him with the Copy ability, he receives the Wing ability. It is very rare to see a Birdon attacking from the ground.

Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star UltraEdit

Birdon makes his first appearance in these games, serving as the only enemy-based source for the exotic Wing ability. In these games, Birdon is fairly uncommon, nor is he particularly dangerous toward Kirby. Birdon is typically seen flying at a modest pace in a straight line, and he can shoot out feathers to attack. When made into a helper, Birdon has all the same abilities as Wing Kirby, though he has significantly less health than the pink puffball.

In Kirby Super Star Ultra, Birdon also appears on a card in Kirby Card Swipe.

Kirby Star AlliesEdit

Birdon appears again in Kirby Star Allies, where he can be recruited as a Friend. Much like other common friends in the game, Birdon wears the same hat Wing Kirby does (which replaces his original aviator's cap), as well as use the same moves Wing Kirby has access to. Birdon is also capable of adding the Bluster Power Effect to other friends' weapons, which not only increases damage output, but can affect move trajectory among other properties using wind. He can also team up with either Fire Kirby, Burning Leo, Rick, Daroach, Magolor or Flamberge to perform the Friend Combo, Rising Sizzler.

TriviaEdit

  • Birdon looks similar to a miniature, more organic looking Dyna Blade. However, Dyna Blade's chicks do not resemble Birdon, being more realistic and yellow, and they are larger than Kirby while Birdon is the same size as Kirby. Birdon is similar to Bronto Burt in being small, mostly round except for wings, and almost always being found flying.
