"…I will walk the path of mastery."
Under cover of the night, hidden in villages, this elite ninja takes a journey to learn the ninja’s way. With his blade of violet lightning, he speeds through the land!

— Guest Star Bio Spark Savage Silence Pause Screen description in Kirby Star Allies

Bio Spark (also spelled Biospark) is a common enemy in the Kirby series, first appearing in Kirby Super Star. Bio Spark is a ninja-like figure, who wears a cloak with a plume on the helmet. Although glimpses of his gloved hands and covered feet are shown, his only actual body parts seen are his glowing eyes, and he has no arms at all, similar to Blade Knight and Sir Kibble. Bio Spark usually wears black or purple, but is also seen wearing green.

Bio Spark can do many things usually attributed to a ninja, including throwing kunai knives when Kirby is far away, slicing rapidly with a blade when Kirby gets too close, hiding in the shadows, grabbing his foe, jumping up, and flinging them to the ground (known as Air Drop).

Bio Spark provides the Ninja Copy Ability when swallowed by Kirby.

Bio Spark debuted in Kirby Super Star. In this title and its remake, Kirby Super Star Ultra, he can become Kirby's Helper and perform all of the same moves as Ninja Kirby, including wall jumps. Bio Spark also gains access to the Infinity Jump, which allows him to really show off his Ninja moves without being inhibited by a Hovering technique. However, Bio Spark suffers from reduced health when compared to Kirby.

Additionally, in Kirby Super Star Ultra, he appears in the Helper to Hero Sub-Game as one of the playable characters and wears a red cloak. He also appears on a card in Kirby Card Swipe.

When possessed by Kirby's Ghost ability, Bio Spark can use the following moves (facing right):

  • B: Knife throw
  • →+B: Blade multislash
  • ↑: Hide
  • When touching a common enemy in midair: Air Drop

Kirby Mass AttackEdit

While not appearing in the main game of Kirby Mass Attack, Bio Spark cameos as an obstacle in the Sub-Game, Kirby Brawlball. He occupies a small part of the board and will swipe at any Kirby ball that gets near. He is worth 100 points each time he is hit. Once he is hit, Tac will activate on the top left corner. Bio Spark will also throw ninja stars that are worth 800 points.

Kirby Star AlliesEdit

Bio Spark makes his first 3D appearance in Kirby Star Allies, where he provides the Ninja ability as usual, as well as being recruitable as a Friend. Once recruited, Bio Spark can perform all of the same moves as Ninja Kirby, and can also have his blade augmented by elemental powers.

Bio Spark as a Friend has lower health than Kirby and his health (tied with NESP) is below average - even lower than many other Friends, and just slightly higher than Adeleine & Ribbon's.

TriviaEdit

  • Bio Spark's blade is explicitly named in the Japanese version of Kirby Star Allies, being called 紫電しでん in his Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! Pause Screen description, which can be translated to "swordflash". In the English version however, the sword isn't named, and rather is said to be "of violet lightning", utilizing another translation of the kanji.
    • Bio Spark's Japanese name is derived from this same kanji.
