Beam Mage is one of the four roles that can be taken on in the Sub-Game Team Kirby Clash and its expansions, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Super Kirby Clash. It is based on Beam, though it bears some noteworthy differences. Whereas Beam Kirby dons a jester cap, Beam Mage Kirby has a pointy wizard's hat and wields a magical staff. Beam Mage is also a very simplified variant of the move-set, only containing four offensive options. However, there is a special move known as 'Time Beam', which has three levels of charge and can build up an effect in the enemy. Once that effect is full, the enemy is frozen for an extended period of time, allowing the party to deal damage freely. Each time Team Kirby freezes time in a single battle, it becomes more difficult to do so again. Beam Mage Kirby can also revive a fallen teammate using the Revival Spell, but this costs a small amount of stamina to perform.
Like the other roles, Beam Mage Kirby's damage output, stamina and Guard strength increases as he gains experience. In Deluxe, these attributes can also be altered by equipping different items.
