— Nightmare in Dream Land description

Ball is a Copy Ability recurring throughout the Kirby series. By using it, Kirby can transform into a ball-like form, enabling him to bounce and roll, harming enemies he bounds into. While Kirby possesses the ability, a helmet appears atop his head.

Game Appearances

Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

The ability made its first appearance in Kirby's Adventure and returns in its remake, Nightmare in Dream Land. It can be acquired by either inhaling Bubbles or the various baseballs painted by Paint Roller during the boss battle against him. Although Kirby's appearance does not change while in possession of the ability in Kirby's Adventure, he sports a rubber band-like visor in Nightmare in Dream Land.

Kirby: Canvas Curse

In Canvas Curse, Kirby transforms while pursuing Drawcia, attempting to halt Dream Land from transforming into a portrait. However, the Ball form in this game is significantly different from the ability seen in other games, as Kirby travels in only one direction, uses the Dash Attack, and can receive other Copy Abilities while retaining the shape of a ball, making it more of an overall form than a traditional ability.
