Babagahara? I've heard of that place! No one who goes there has ever come back!
— Fololo & Falala, from Flower Power

Babagahara is a dense jungle in Dream Land situated down river from the countryside surrounding Cappy Town in the anime series Kirby: Right Back at Ya!. It is an untamed wilderness region home to dense vegetation, wetland bogs, extensive caves, and giant predatory animals. It is the primary setting of the episode Flower Power, and home to the monster Pukey Flower, which Meta Knight and Tuff battle in order to save Kirby from a serious case of Noddy-induced sleeping sickness.

Appearances

Babagahara is the primary setting of the episode Flower Power. After Kirby contracts severe sleeping sickness from a Noddy, Doctor Yabui instructs Kirby's friends that a cure lies deep within that wilderness. Knowing its danger, Tuff initially refuses responsibility for Kirby's condition, but is later compelled to take Tiff's place on the expedition to preserve his pride alongside Fololo & Falala. Their journey is perilous, as they run into several wild animals and other hazards, but they are repeatedly saved by Meta Knight, who is acting covertly along with Tiff to ensure their success without them knowing. At the heart of Babagahara is a deep cave with a mouth shaped like a skull. No vegetation grows within the cave, save for the carnivorous Pukey Flower, which serves as the main obstacle for Tuff and the others to overcome.

Trivia

  • Babagahara may be based on the real-world Japanese forest Aokigahara, also known as the Sea of Trees, located near Mount Fuji.
