Kirby's Dream Land 2 (known in Japan as 星のカービィ2 (Hoshi no Kābī Tsū), Kirby of the Stars 2) is a 2D platforming game for the Game Boy and the third game in the main Kirby series, as well as the sequel to Kirby's Dream Land. Like its predecessors, it was developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. The game was first released in Japan on March 21, 1995 and brought to North America on May 1 of the same year, while Europe saw its release on July 31, 1995. It is notable for introducing three of Kirby's Animal Friends: Rick, Coo and Kine.

Although released for the same system as the original Kirby's Dream Land, Kirby's Dream Land 2 was designed with the Super Game Boy adapter cartridge for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in mind. When played using this hardware, the game makes use of the Super Game Boy's features to present certain scenes in more colors than normally possible and assign different preset palettes to all the areas explored by Kirby, as well as providing a special border showing Kirby and his friends on a green and white checkerboard pattern, which is displayed around the game screen.

WiKirby wants to share some useful tools for wiki working. Feel free to suggest anything we may have missed. If you aren't currently using any of these, we recommend looking into them at the very least. All are free of cost, easy to install, and even easier to uninstall if desired.
*- Mozilla Firefox offers a few extensions which can make your wiki experience much more efficient. Download the latest version here
*- GreaseMonkey customizes the look of pages with Javascript, needs to be used with WikED and FireFox Download the latest version here
*- GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is a highly useful image editing software, seemingly complex at first but after a few trials, images can be cleaned, transparent, and cropped easily. Download the latest version here
*WikED- Arguably the most useful wiki editing software in existence. Edit views will highlight templates, coding, images, references, and other text for easier edit mode viewing. Can do text replace, WYSIWYG editor, table creations, proofreading at the touch of a button, and much much more! Download the latest version here
*-Skype isn't wiki specific, but is a useful method of getting ahold of the staff here and discussing things for the site, or Kirby in general. Most people associate skype with voice chatting, but we only use the text chat, since it's free and more effective than IRC. read more here.
*-Lazarus is a Firefox add-on which automatically stores everything typed into text fields. It's very helpful for when you're wiki editing, because you won't lose anything if your browser crashes or you accidentally leave the page! You can just go back, right click, and open the data with Lazarus! It can be a real lifesaver. Download it here.
Rick is one of Kirby's original three Animal Friends, first appearing in Kirby's Dream Land 2. He is a round, plump hamster with pink feet and big, orange spots on his white fur. Although his last major appearance was in Kirby's Dream Land 3, he also appears as a minor character in the anime, as well as making several smaller appearances and cameos in other games of the Kirby series.
Rick makes his debut appearance as an Animal Friend in Kirby's Dream Land 2. He is the first friend Kirby meets on his adventure, appearing in the 2nd stage of Grass Land as well as the level's intro.

When traveling together with Rick, Kirby rides on his back. Teaming up with the hamster enables him to walk a little bit faster and prevents him from slipping on ice, but makes him unable to fly, which can make certain locations impossible to escape from without leaving the friend behind. Additionally, Rick can inhale, swallow and spit out enemies like Kirby.

Like the other Animal Friends, teaming up with Rick while possessing a Copy Ability grants Kirby access to new skills, which combine Rick's powers with the attributes of Kirby's ability.
Kirby's Star Stacker
In Kirby's Star Stacker, Rick, along with Kine and Coo, aids Kirby by eliminating any star blocks and devaluing hard blocks to star blocks between pairs of tiles.
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Rick returns as a friend for Kirby to team up with in Kirby's Dream Land 3, alongside the other Animal Friends from the game's predecessor. Although his design remains mostly the same, the spots of his fur have become brighter, particularly in his in-game sprites, where they are almost yellow. He appears together with Nago in the first stage of Grass Land, and can once again be seen in the intro of the level.

Although Rick still does not slip on ice like in the previous game, his other powers have changed greatly; the hamster is now able to wall-jump, allowing him to climb walls that would otherwise not be passable, but is considerably slower and has lost the ability to inhale. Instead, Rick opens his mouth while the Y button is held, and is able to eat enemies he walks into. Once an opponent is in his mouth, however, he can spit it out or swallow it as if he had inhaled it. The Propeller enemy moves faster in his presence if it possesses a yellow colouring.

Just like other Animal Friends, the hamster once again grants Kirby access to different skills if the pink hero possesses a Copy Ability, although a few of these combinations differ slightly from those of the previous game.
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Although Rick does not appear in person in The Crystal Shards, he makes a cameo as one of the statues Kirby can turn into by using the Stone-Cutter Power Combo. As the Rick sculpture, Kirby can walk slowly and make small jumps, as well as being capable of wall-jumping like the hamster can in Kirby's Dream Land 3. As with the other results of Stone-Cutter, Kirby is invincible in this form and may end the transformation at any time by pushing the ability button again, causing the statue to crumble and harm nearby enemies with its debris.
Kirby: Canvas Curse
In Kirby: Canvas Curse, Rick makes a minor appearance as a painting created by Paint Roller in the sub-game Paint Panic.
Kirby Super Star Ultra
Rick makes another indirect cameo in Kirby Super Star Ultra, an enhanced remake of Kirby Super Star, where a statue of him is one of the objects Kirby can turn into by using the Stone ability. It should be noted that this statue does not appear in the original game, instead being exclusive to the remake.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land
In Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Rick cameos once more as a random Stone transformation. Instead of being given his own, seperate statue, however, he is part of a sculpture consisting of all of Kirby's original Animal Friends (Rick, Coo and Kine). This result differs from other results of using the Stone ability only in appearance and not functionality.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Within the Super Smash Bros. series, Rick only appears in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and only as a random trophy.
Trophy Information
Rick made his debut alongside Kirby's other friends, Coo and Kine. He looks like a meek hamster, but when he puffs himself up, he's bigger than Kirby. When he's carrying Kirby on his back, he can mimic Kirby's copy powers with some special moves of his own. Rick's claim to fame is his exceptional traction on icy surfaces.

Trivia
*In the anime, Kirby can inhale Rick. Regardless, Rick can still give Kirby a ride on his back.
**Additionally, Rick is depicted with an Australian accent.
Kirby's Adventure is the first and only Kirby game to be released on the Nintendo Entertainment System, featuring a more expansive colour palette and visual style, as well as much more extensive gameplay, than Kirby's Dream Land on the Game Boy. It also marks the introduction of one of Kirby's trademark special abilities: swallowing the enemies he has inhaled to receive special Copy Abilities.

A remake of the game, known as Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2002. A demo of Kirby's Adventure later appeared as one of the Masterpieces in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The game also was remade as a 3D Classic on the 3DS eShop.
Story
Kirby wakes up from a nap, realizing he has not had a pleasant dream all night. He heads to the Fountain of Dreams to figure what went wrong. Once there, he finds out that King Dedede has stolen the Star Rod, the source of the Fountain of Dreams' power. Dedede has broken the Rod into seven pieces, giving one to each of his six assistants, and keeping the seventh for himself (his assistants being the six world bosses plus himself). Kirby adventures through Dream Land to retrieve the seven Star Rod pieces and return it to the Fountain of Dreams.
Enemies
After Kirby retrieves all seven Star Rod pieces and unites them, he tosses the Star Rod into the Fountain of Dreams. Suddenly, a mysterious being named Nightmare emerges from the fountain and flies into the starry space, shrouding Dream Land in darkness. King Dedede evidently had known that Nightmare infected the Fountain of Dreams, and had hidden the Star Rod with good intentions. The King then launches Kirby in the sky, ready to defeat Nightmare with the completed Star Rod. Once he is defeated, good dreams return to the people of Dream Land.

Normal Enemies
These enemies provide nothing if Kirby swallows them. Most enemies are defeated when they touch water, but some enemies can be both in land and water.
|-
|Blipper
|align=center|
|Blippers are common underwater enemy. They may swim freely or pursue Kirby. They can also jump out the water. If they are on land, they flop.
|-
|Bounder
|align=center|
|Bounders, are usually seen clinging on walls, but they can be on the ground as well. They can climb walls and drop stars that can hurt Kirby.
|-
|Bronto Burt
|align=center|
|Bronto Burts are flying enemies. They can fly in a wave-like motion or attempt to fly into Kirby. Sometimes, they appear by flying into the screen and performing a few loops.
|-
|Broom Hatter
|align=center|
|Broom Hatters move by sweeping the ground, making swaying motions. Their motion can periodically change between fast and slow due to their sweeping motions.
|-
|Cappy
|align=center|
|Cappies move slowly from left to right. If Kirby attempts to inhale one, Kirby swallows the Cappy's mushroom cap, revealing the Cappy's face, but not defeating the Cappy. If Kirby uses any other attack, however, Cappys can be defeated in one blow.
|-
|Coconut
|align=center|
|Coconuts are stationary objects situated on palm trees. If Kirby gets too close, they may fall and explode. The Mid-Boss Bonkers uses Coconuts as projectiles.
|-
|Coner
|align=center|
|Coners are enemies found both in land and underwater. They make scuttling movements on land, but they sink when they are underwater. If they tuck inside their shell, Kirby cannot inhale them.
|-
|Glunk
|align=center|
|Glunks are stationary enemies found usually underwater. Glunks periodically shoot three air projectiles up to hit Kirby.
|-
|Gordo
|align=center|
|Gordos are indestructible enemies. They are found usually stationary or moving in a straight line.
|-
|Kabu
|align=center|
|Kabus are constantly spinning. They can be stationary or moving rapidly across the ground. Some can hover while others can teleport. Usually after they teleport, however, they may self-destruct.
|-
|Poppy Bros. Jr.
|align=center|
|Poppy Bros. Jr.'s can be found moving slowly. They can also be seen strolling on apples and Maxim Tomatoes. If Kirby attempts to inhale them, they leave behind the fruit. If they leave behind the Maxim Tomato, the Maxim Tomato can be taken. If Kirby uses any other attack, the fruit is destroyed and Kirby must attack the Poppy Bros. Jr. to defeat it.
|-
|Scarfy
|align=center|
|If Kirby attempts to inhale this hovering enemy, Scarfies transform into a monster state and attempts to pursue Kirby. If it runs into Kirby or Kirby's attacks, it explodes. Also, if it cannot catch Kirby in the monster state after some seconds, it self-destructs.
|-
|Shotzo
|align=center|
|Shotzos are stationary indestructible enemies that shoot cannon balls. They can aim at Kirby, shooting one cannon ball at a time, or aim in one direction, shooting multiple cannon balls periodically.
|-
|Sir Slippy
|align=center|
|This enemy can be found both land and underwater. In the land, it hops around, attempting to hit Kirby. Underwater, it swims in a bobbing motion.
|-
|Squishy
|align=center|
|These enemies can be found in both land and underwater. In the land, they move slowly. In the water, they move up after sinking. They can also jump out the water.
|-
|Twizzy
|align=center|
|These enemies act similarly to Bronto Burts. They fly in wave-like motions or pursue Kirby.
|-
|Waddle Dee
|align=center|
|Waddle Dees are the basic enemies of the Kirby games. They simply walk, but sometimes, they can run and jump. Waddle Dees can either turn around at a ledge or walk off it.
|}

Enemies with Copy Abilities
These enemies provide Kirby with a copy ability if Kirby swallows them. Unlike normal enemies, these enemies can appear in different colors.
|-
|Cool Spook
|Light
|align=center|
|Flamer
|Fireball
|align=center|
|Parasol Waddle Doo
|Parasol
|align=center|
|Waddle Doos equipped with a parasol act in a similar manner to Parasol Waddle Dees. If the parasol is destroyed, it becomes a regular Waddle Doo.
|-
|Pengi
|Ice
|align=center|
|Pengis move by sliding. They attack by emitting an ice breath, similar to how Hot Heads breathe a stream of fire.
|-
|Rocky
|Stone
|align=center|
|These slow-moving enemies attack primarily by leaping and slamming down into Kirby. If they are midair, they can fall quickly.
|-
|Sir Kibble
|Cutter
|align=center|
|-
|UFO
|U.F.O.
|align=center|
|UFOs are rare flying enemies. They can fly erratically, ramming into Kirby, or they can shoot a few laser beams at him. If Kirby leaves them alone long enough, they may fly away.
|-
|Waddle Doo
|Beam
|align=center|
|Waddle Doos can walk and jump. They can emit a beam, but they must stop and charge first.
|-
|Wheelie
|Wheel
|align=center|
|}

Meta Knights
Meta Knights are different from normal enemies. They tend to spawn after Meta Knight appears. Unlike normal enemies, they can take more than one hit to defeat. If one is defeated, part of a total health bar is depleted and another Meta Knight is spawned. Meta Knights do not give any copy abilities when swallowed.

Helpers are enemy-based creatures that fight by Kirby's side in Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra. When Kirby possesses a Copy Ability, he may create a helper, but loses the ability in the process. However, in want of a Copy Ability, an existing Helper can be transformed into an item yielding the ability that was used in its creation, allowing Kirby to regain it. If Kirby attempts to call forth a Helper when there is already one in existance, he instead tosses his ability away in item form, allowing the current Helper to transform into a new one when it touches it.

Helpers follow Kirby around and attack any enemies which they encounter. They are usually able to use the same attacks as Kirby can when he possesses their ability, and are capable of jumping in midair or teleporting in order to keep up with him. Although usually controlled by an AI, Helpers can alternatively be controlled by a second player.

Kirby's current Helper possesses its own, seperate health bar. The health bar can be refilled by having the Helper pick up food or touching it shortly after Kirby himself does so. When a Helper's health runs out, it flashes and begins to explode. During this period, touching any enemy that yields an ability transforms the Helper into a new one that possesses the respective Copy Ability, instantly restoring all its health and keeping it from exploding. Alternatively, tossing a different Copy Ability at a Helper to transform it also heals it completely.

Like Copy Abilities, Helpers can be stolen by a Tac, but are regained upon its defeat.

A Waddle Dee and Bronto Burt helper appear in the intro for Milky Way Wishes, but they are not playable.
A boss is a strong creature who battles Kirby at the end of a level. Sometimes, bosses have good intentions, such as Meta Knight in Kirby: Squeak Squad, but they may also have bad intentions, such as King Dedede in Kirby's Dream Land or Nightmare in Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. They sometimes give Copy Abilities, but these are not received by swallowing them. Instead, they might shoot objects at Kirby, which can often be inhaled and spat back at the boss, or send other enemies to attack him, whose Copy Abilities, should they give any, can be used to attack the boss. If a character is a boss in one game, they are most likely also a boss in the next game they appear.
Neither of them should be redirects until the article they're meant to lead to actually exists. All a broken redirect like this does is create the illusion that an article on the subject exists (by making links appear blue and showing up as a suggestion in the search box) when it does not. As for the name, if it's only called Walky in Brawl and Walkie in actual Kirby series games, the Kirby name should take priority imo.--Vellidragon 17:29, 14 October 2010 (CDT)
Walky is an enemy debuting in Kirby Super Star. It resembles a sentient old stage microphone with red feet and a mouth. Its sides each have a yellow hinge that connect the dark blue head with the yellow or tan mouth.

Game Appearances
Walky makes its first appearance in Kirby Super Star and returns in its remake. Encountered only in a very small number of locations throughout either game, this enemy usually walks back and forth and stops regularly to yell three musical notes at Kirby, which hurt him on contact. Only one Walky in the game, encountered in the fourth stage of Dyna Blade, possesses a different behavior; it moves faster than a regular Walky and runs away from Kirby with a gasp when it spots him instead of attacking, making it harmless as long as Kirby does not collide with it directly.

Walky possesses 16 points of health and increases Kirby's score by 890 points when defeated. Inhaling and swallowing it grants him the rare Mike ability.

Anime
In Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, a Walky appears as the Monster of the day in the episode Abusement Park, where it is described as "the microphone Monster". It is ordered from Enterprises by King Dedede and, at the suggestion of Salesguy, used as a microphone for a karaoke contest. It is inhaled by Kirby for the Mike ability when it is his turn to sing, but after Kirby uses the ability to destroy the palace, the Walky reappears from the rubble, apparently unharmed. When it sees Kirby after emerging again, it hastily flees from him, making it one of the few Monsters on the anime to not be destroyed in any manner.
Triple Star is an ability gained in Kirby: Squeak Squad, allowing Kirby to launch stars at enemies. Kirby first gains this ability upon defeating Daroach, in his dark form. Upon gaining the ability, Kirby receives the cane used by Daroach, and is encircled by three stars.

Triple Star can be used to solve any puzzles. It can set fire, break gray blocks, remove clouds, cut rope, hit stakes, and more. Also, if Kirby loses Triple Star, the ability will not break unless it falls into a bottomless pit.

In Kirby Super Star Ultra, the Triple Star Cane (called the "Three Star Cane") appears as one of the treasures.

The World of Drawcia refers to both, level in the hub, and the stage within. This is the final stage of the game ending in Kirby's confrontation with Drawcia. Kirby cannot access the area until all others are completed. The unlocked Character Balls can play stages of Canvas Curse freely, excepting The World of Drawcia. Any attempts to access this world by a character ball will result in a message indicating the earliest stage not cleared by that character. The background and foreground elements of this world employ darker overtones than the previous areas.

Area 1
The first area is simple and straightforward. No enemies appear to threaten Kirby. All of the ground appears to be hardened paint twisted resembling a rope. The bottom of the area is an open pit, but can be easily avoided. A 1 Up can be acquired nearly halfway through, just before the area becomes lined with spikes. A medal for Medal Swap purchases can be obtained in the low-rightmost corner of the area.

Area 2
Although Kirby seems to have company in this area, the paintings with faces on them are harmless. The solid painted structure resembles a zig-zagging stair case lined with spikes. One hidden area behind the stairs contains a Maxim Tomato. The only other medal for the area appears if all of the paintings have been tapped (with the stylus). The paint portal atop of the area leads to the final showdown with Drawcia.

Drawcia Battle
Drawcia
When entering this area, the map screen is filled with static and Kirby rolls along a white space as Drawcia materializes before him. Once she fully appears the background becomes an animated distorted blur, despite that Drawcia's shadow appears against the background. The ground is made of the solidified paint, and is subjected to Drawcia's magic. When she paints a spike, large spikes will appear from the ground. No enemies appear initially, however Drawcia can draw enemies and cast a spell to summon dark versions of Bronto Burts, Waddle Dees, and parachuting bombs.
:::I had been considering creating a Youtube account for WiKirby so we could control our own videos. The main reason I haven't done it is the obvious one, :P at this point we have so much to do and it may be unwise to take up another burden. Right now we're really lacking in still images, articles, and references. On that note, I was thinking we could consider compartmentalizing; at least temporarily. To elaborate on that, this is where I've been pulling images. it'd be cool to have someone who's WiKirby position was to mine images, source them, clean them up, transparent, compress, upload, and place in as many articles as possible.
06:19, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
::::I can help with the image situation, but I can't use transparancy. I think we should divide up the users into different asignments. That way a few could do youtube, a few can make templates/charts, a few can make articles, a few can do uploads, and a few can double check everything. -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 06:31, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
:If you want to jump in there and get started with cropping out useful images, scanning the other manuals, etc that'd be cool. I put a link to get Gimp downloaded, I only have some basic image transparent techniques committed to memory. So some of the images of Kirby in the Squeak Squad manual were impossible for me. But yeah, it seems you catch my drift with compartmentalizing. I think we could actually cover more ground that way. For instance, when I'm working on an article if I go look for an image, I find several that we could use, my article gets a backseat and I fuss with Gimp for the rest of the day. Alternatively, if we had designated people for specific tasks, then we would function something like a real office.
:::I think we should take an aproach similer to Zelda Dungeon. THey had a text walkthrough along with a video walkthrough. That is one technique that I always felt Zelda Wiki lacked. (Maybe becuase t already existed withing the masterminds.) But, I also think there should be that on Wikirby. There are not very many other kirby websites that arn't spriter kirby sites except Kirby's Rainbow Resort. And even they do not go into walkthroughs. I might eventualy make a walkthrough of KAM, I can do others too but I don't have a non-ROM of those. :I have awesome news for us. Strategy Wiki is willing to partner with us for guides and walkthroughs. This is a very awesome accomplishment, since only Zelda Wiki and Bulbapedia are currently partners. Many of their guides are undeveloped, so there's still room to create. We'll have to prepare our pages for the increased traffic from them, I think we can have infoboxes with links and external links to them in the game articles, location articles, and subgame articles. Plus I think a good addition to user pages would be some links to walkthroughs you created there. I haven't fully discussed it with them, but I'm going to say it's ok for WiKirby's images and videos to be used there too. So let's say I run through a level and record it, upload it to Youtube, place it on an article here, I'll place it there too. Our articles will document the levels themselves; whereas their articles will be walkthroughs.

I actually hadn't thought to seek out a partnership with them until I saw the messages here, just so you know I'm listening to anything I can address. I just hope you guys trust that this is the best possible way forward. We get a huge new partnership (which always helps to bring in new members), some of the walkthroughs are done, so it's not going to overwhelm anyone, and you still get to create new guides from scratch.
But, they have been on since 07. User Talk: KirJoey
:Several of the Kirby Wikia admins have signed up here, Starman, Blue NinjaKoopa, and GameFreak75. They are helping to make sure nothing is copied from their wiki and hosted here. I'll admit, I like these guys much more than I like the Zeldapedia staff. The Kirby Wikia staffers have been respectful, and Ember, you have to click some options on the Recent Changes such as show the past 500 edits in the past 30 days to see more activity level. The sad truth about Wikia is that the parent company draws in more people that want to write on talkpages, blogs, and userpages than people that want to work on articles and the wiki project itself.

I knew about them before I started this wiki, but I also knew someone would have to create a Kirby wiki for NIWA. See there's so many Kirby references in Zelda games that ZW needed someone to link to for further Kirby reading. Our choices were Wikipedia and Wikia, Wikipedia will link back to Wikia (Zeldapedia) for the corresponding Zelda information in a Kirby article, and so would the Kirby Wikia. So we'd send traffic down a one way street, what makes it worse (as evidenced by Bulbapedia's recent news) is that Wikia's owner is out to buy and delete wikis that aren't on their network. The best thing to do was to create our own Kirby wiki, and unite the independent gaming wikis. This way when Mario Wiki.com, Bulbapedia, Zelda Wiki.org, and now WiKirby insert a link for more information on another series, they'll have one back. This also helps expand our knowledge pool. I often check on the other wikis to see if they need help with anything.

We may not be as old as the Kirby Wikia site, nor have as much content, but I think WiKirby is becoming a wiki worth being respected in its own right. With enough work, one day someone will call it their favorite website! I've already gotten compliments on our Main Page and some of the articles here!
::::Ah ok, I usually determine the age of a wiki by the first main page edit. Usually the Main Page is automatically created. I don't think any of us want to steal content, some younger newer members might not realize it's inappropriate so it's something we have to look out for. Kirby Wiki.org is being squatted basically, and there's a Kirbypedia which is rather decent, but runs on Media Wiki 1.6 no extensions, and no one is allowed to edit. We somewhat sorta have support from the Kirby Rainbow Resorters, a few of their members have edited here, but I haven't been able to get ahold of Kindar Spirit, that wiki's owner. I'll try emailing her again.
::::Remino, there were some brief talks with Bulbapedia about WiKirby being on their host, but I opted not to and paid for the domain and hosting from my own money. I didn't want to risk being a burden on BP's server or tech team. I paid for both for a year, and will renew in January. I think the renewal fees will be cheaper than the startup ones. But I gave Adam access to everything. So if by chance I'm not around to keep it going, he likely will be. By sharing all of that, I think we're prepared for even worse case scenario.
Appearance sections
(Didn't really know where to put this, as it deals with multiple articles and I could not find any other place to discuss general issues like this; feel free to move this somewhere else if there's a better place for it.) I have noticed that some of the enemy/character articles on the Wiki have an "Appearance" section while others don't, which looks rather unprofessional. There should probably be a standard. In my personal opinion, these sections are not really needed, as most of them only contain one or two relevant sentences, which could just as well be put into the article introduction or another section; sections that are longer than this, like the one in the Rick article, tend to include information that has nothing to do with physical appearance (in the example, the Appearance section sums up the character's appearance in a single sentence, then proceeds to cover his in-game abilities). The second problem with these sections is that enemies/characters often change in look between individual appearances, so we would have to point out all the changes the subject has undergone in the Appearance section, which in my opinion seems a bit illogical as we already have different sections for the individual appearances of an enemy/character either way, so we could simply mention these changes in those. I would like to hear what others have to say on Appearance sections.--Vellidragon 15:53, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
:Agreed. Sections like that are good whenever there's a need to break up the information. I've noticed many many stubs were created with 1-4 sentence statements divided into multiple sections. Such very short articles could contain things into a paragraph until someone really creates in-depth articles. I've been trying to lay some ground work down for basic pages, ok, mostly Sub Games bc I love em! I have an on-going WordPad draft for Rainbow Run, (references, details, details, and details) as soon as that's done I'm hoping to delve into some enemy page expansions. But don't wait on me guys! The best thing to do would be to find an enemy that has minimal appearances and a great article, we can stick it on the Main Page (to replace Meta Knight) and people could use it as an example on how to craft great articles for even small topics. Well I gotta get to sleep, but feel free to use your intuition and discretion for dealing with those pages for now. If you guys agree on any policy while I'm gone, I'll support it.
Main Page Formatting
I don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this, but in Firefox with a resolution of 1024x768, the boxes that are supposed to be on the right (like the News box) are too wide to be displayed next to those on the left, and thus are instead displayed below them. I had not noticed this earlier as I had accidently set my zoom to less than 100% on the Main Page tab; it works then, and it also works with higher resolutions, but 100% zoom and 1024x768 screen resolution messes it up. I don't know all that much about formatting, so I'm pointing this out so someone with more knowledge in this area can perhaps fix it; 1024x768 is quite a common screen resolution, so the page should look normal when viewed that way.--Vellidragon 20:48, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
:okey doke. We were discussing in the NIWA skype chat recently on possibly designing all of the niwa wiki's main pages for that exact same res. It's the #2 most used for WiKirby according to Google Analytic. We're supposed to have a fluid width, so that the boxes shrink their width as the page is shrunken, but expand their height. One thing that might be botching it is the Image section, as images need to be set to a certain pixel size. I've never tried setting an image size as a % instead, but will look heavily into reworking the main page with those considerations and any others this weekend. Thanks for pointing this out. 04:38, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Minor trouble with formatting again; on 1024x768, the scroll bar in the news box prevents the header images from fitting (the second wing image is displayed on the next line). Also, in the KEY announcement box, the top part of the text overlaps with the image a little (the topmost stroke of the "F", for instance, is near invisible unless the text is highlighted because it's in front of a similarly coloured portion of the image).--Vellidragon 12:06, 19 October 2010 (CDT)
:Repairs made! I was actually in that res trying to get the bottom to line up, I overlooked the rest of the page :p. Well, lesson learned. While we're on the subject, I've tried thousands of times with different images to isolate any good KEY buttons for template flair, and if anyone wants a pattern made into a div class to work the KEY theme a bit more, lemme know. 23:36, 19 October 2010 (CDT)
"Random Image"
Shouldn't "Random Image" be "Featured Picture"? It's not really 'random', since it's voted on, and the link at the bottom says "Have you voted for the next Featured Picture yet?" Moydow 23:34, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
:Well so far nothing voted on went up, I just picked the last 3 images out of the blue, and didn't want to say Featured Image, since there's currently none, and if we had at least one, it could say Featured Image while it's up and Random Image when we just throw something else there to not have a stale main page section. Same with the article section. I now think I was too hasty in creating a Featured Content presentation scheme since groundwork is still kinda ongoing. The voted question is meant to drive some attention to those pages, but I'm thinking until we have a decent library of eligible images and articles, we should just mix things up. Also, I was never happy with the word "Random". I'd love to get some ideas and help on implementing a system here similar to the trivia and video that would cycle automatically. 04:38, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
::The StrategyWiki main page rotates through the featured guides each time the page is loaded. It uses a template involving #switch. It's located at sw:StrategyWiki:Featured Guide/2007-08. :Ah, we did something like that for the Link article at ZW. There was a dispute on which image should be in the infobox, and the solution was to use them all. Refresh the Link page several times to see different images. I'm hoping we can do that for articles that get a lot of images here too. One reason I like daily and weekly rotations is that it works independent of a person's cookies, so if they saw something but didn't have time to read, it'll be there later on, rather than cycling at every pageload. But I think in articles that's an awesome tool to make a page interesting. 05:30, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Bolding and br tags would do it, but I think after the list is complete, it becomes one of the few pages that are static, since we couldn't just add up staff members to expand the article one day, so protecting the page upon completion may be needed. 04:09, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
::::I'm not planning to nor do I know how to with these infoboxes, but I will try to if you want it to be round. Thing is though, all infoboxes on this wiki rely on the infobox template template, while bulbapedia's infoboxes, which I am more used to, are manually coded. I only know how to make them round by use of manual coding. ::Out of boredom and curiosity, I did. Number one result is Wikipedia. :::Lol! I guess it worked. I'm still amazed that WiKirby's Alexa rank is in the 1,200,000 range, since I haven't done a comprehensive SEO campaign. It's another one of the many many things I need to get working on. 01:37, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
::::Wow we're [Metroid Wiki] at 2 million. Haha. Awkward considering we have a hundred more articles. Dang, the baby niwa wikis need some collective advertising. Malake256 06:08, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
:Agreed, I've been thinking we should pick one NIWA member whose "job" would be to advertise the wikis. But that's a discussion for that forum. I only have basic SEO knowledge but since "Kirby" is also people's last name, company names, street names (in my city anyway), etc, and "Metroid" pretty much only applies to the game series; the two names alone would have differing values to search engines. And one other tip, Article count can hurt your wiki's rank if they are mostly undeveloped. I've been focusing on trying to get each new article I create to as fully developed as I can; rather than creating as many as I can. This sorta slows me down, but I think it's best to sacrifice quantity to quality. 14:11, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
::Yeah that's Metroid Wiki's biggest problem, most of our articles are stubs. But we're doing the same, we're working on it. An anti-stub crusade seems at hand :] . Most of those stubby articles were formed before MW had an ample staff, so they're better now that we do have a good staff. So now they are getting much better :]. I hope Wikirby's doing well too. Another problem is, though, the number of editors. Which advertising would solve. As for the NIWA member, that would be a nice thread. Oh hey, that's what the suggestions thread is for I guess. Melchizedek will start an SEO campaign as well for MW. Lets hope it works just as well. And advertising can be pretty hard even with our friends in NIWA Malake256 05:07, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
I just uploaded the English version of the same box art shown on the front page for Kirby's Dream Collection. We should likely switch to using the English version everywhere, including the main page. In order to support the upkeep of the server, we're asking the sites we're hosting if they would be willing to host advertisements. We're looking to have two to three ads on each site - one at the top and bottom of the content area, and possibly one in the sidebar, but this can be negotiated. All money raised will go towards the cost of the server/hosting and domain names. This won't affect the day-to-day running of the site in any way. Please discuss this, and let me know if you're okay with ads being placed on the site. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. Master Hand is a Mid-Boss in the Kirby series, making his debut in the Super Smash Bros. series. He is a disembodied white glove, often paired with Crazy Hand, Master Hand's counterpart.

Game Appearances
Super Smash Bros. series
Master Hand has appeared in every game of the Super Smash Bros. series to date. In each game, he is the final boss of the "Classic" single-player mode. He is the only character faced in the single-player mode whose health is measured in a decreasing amount of HP, as opposed to the accumulating-percentage system used elsewhere in the game. In Melee and Brawl, if RealMe's character reaches the final battle under a certain time and on a certain intensity, Master Hand is joined by Crazy Hand, the left hand of the pair. Master and Crazy Hand both have moves similar to Wham Bam Rock and Wham Bam Jewel. Some attacks that are not shared with Wham Bam Rock and Wham Bam Jewel are shooting lasers from his fingers, poking the player, and sweeping the stage.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Master Hand appears as a Mid-Boss, as well as a boss, in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. As the former, he appears alone, and when defeated, provides Kirby with the Smash ability if sucked in and swallowed. As a boss, he appears together with Crazy Hand, defending the Mirror Shard of Candy Constellation.

Master Hand has several moves from his games, including finger bullets, grabbing, sweeping, and swiping. There are a handful of differences, however. One example is that his "bullets" are made of fire and are considerably slower than in the actual Smash games. If Kirby inhales one of these, he will get the Burning ability. Another difference is his throw after he grabs Kirby. Instead of throwing him downwards or sideways like he does in Melee and Super Smash Bros., he smashes his fist to the ground.

With Crazy Hand, he also has the new move of the hands "Hi-five"ing slowly in the center of the stage, bearing a resemblance to the "clap" move in Melee. In addition, the hands retain the combo move of Master Hand punching Crazy Hand's palm.
I really want to make this work. What this will do, hopefully, is use a combination of templates to allow users to decide for themselves whether or not they want to see spoiler sections in articles. If you look under "Appearance" on Special:Preferences, you'll see an option only available on WiKirby at present; this is what it will affect. Of course, it doesn't do anything yet, other than slightly alter the database. But not for long.

For experimenting, I'll need these pages.
* User:Moydow/HideSpoiler: The "root" switching template, that will use the preference setting
* 1: This will contain some text, to verify that the template transcludes correctly
|emphasis= Balance
}}
The Turbo Star is a ridable machine in Kirby Air Ride. As its name implies, it has a high top speed and acceleration. Aside from that, it is notable for having unorthodox turning control.

Appearance
The base of this machine is colored a bright-red hue, and has a fiberglass-like texture to it. It appears as a vaguely shaped five-point star, but with each point on either side bent towards the two near the backward side. The tip pointed forward has been affixed with a large engine intake, colored burgundy and white, with a slightly more metallic texture than the rest of the base. Floating at either side of the base are two expulsion engines matching the style of the intake near the front; they expel what appears to be heated air and occasional bursts of yellow-colored fumes. The engines' floating point in relation to the base varies with the vehicle's trajectory and steering.

Mechanics
Most of the Turbo Star's statistics are near average, but what makes it peculiar is its unusual method of turning. It turns much more sharply at slower speeds and much more gradually at higher speeds in comparison to all other vehicles. In addition, turning for too long has a tendency to make it spin out of control. Slowing to charge while turning alleviates these flaws somewhat, but even then, this method of turning can be difficult to predict and master, especially for a rider not accustomed to the vehicle. Similarly, it charges extremely slow while stopped and much faster at higher speeds. In addition, its gliding ability is sub-par.

Despite its flaws, the Turbo Star has above-average top speed, charge, and to a lesser extent offense to compensate. When used correctly, it is fairly balanced and can handle, but not excel in, most challenges thrown its way in both Air Ride and City Trial.

How to Unlock
To unlock this machine for use in Air Ride, the player must race on Magma Flows with any vehicle, ride each of the three rails in the course's volcano at least once each, and still emerge in 1st place. This can only be feasible done by raising the course's number of laps, as the default laps is two and only rail can be rode per lap.

In City Trial, the Turbo Star can occasionally be found randomly throughout the city and be mounted like most other air ride machines. It is always available in Free Run as well.

Instruction Booklet Description
"The Turbo Star's acceleration abilities and top speed are very advanced, but it has a unique control style that takes some getting used to."
}}
The Shadow Star, known in Japan as the Devil Star, is a ridable machine in Kirby Air Ride. It's dark styling is one of its more recognizable features, as is it's relatively high offensive capabilities. It is one of the vehicles most emblematic of the game, next to the Warp Star and Winged Star, as it is easily unlocked, and featured to a comparatively great extent in official artwork, and other media.

Appearance
This machine's main body is of average size, and appears as a dark burgundy-purple arrowhead with a metallic-marble texture. Protruding out of the base are two wings, bearing the same hue and texture. The entire machine is stylized to look somewhat like bat wings, with the rear of the machine bearing three spines, similar to those found at the tips of said wings. The machine's edges appear particularly razor-sharp, compared with the more rounded tips of most other vehicles. Notably, there are no apparent propulsions or engines on this machine. However, two trails of a dark violet cloudy gas expel from the two outermost spines on the machine's rear while it has momentum.

Whereas many vehicles glow while charging, the Shadow Star is instead surrounded in a dark aura, which grows darker with higher levels of charge. However, it does not gain this aura while charging in the midst of a glide.

Mechanics
The Shadow Star's strongest attribute is its high offense, which becomes most apparent when crashing or rapid spinning into other players' vehicles. However, most of its other statistics are near average. Its turning and charge capabilities are slightly better than those of the standard Warpstar. However, it has relatively weak defense, and only moderate HP. On top of that, it has an unaided top speed of only 19-20 km/h, the third-lowest in the game.

Overall, it's relatively balanced, but on the lower tier of machines sited for racing, due to its abysmal top speed, and no significant means to make up for it. It is, however, often one of the top contenders in the Destruction Derby Stadiums of City Trial due to its offensive prowess.

How to Unlock
To unlock this machine for use in Air Ride mode, the player must defeat at least ten common enemies using Quick Spins. This can be done over the course of several races.

In City Trial, the Shadow Star can occasionally be found randomly throughout the city and be mounted like most other air ride machines. It is always available in Free Run as well.

Instruction Booklet Description
"This machine has equally high levels of offense and acceleration. You can do serious damage by hurling yourself at them!"
Epic Yarn Game Giveaway
That's right! WiKirby wants to give away a free copy of Kirby's Epic Yarn, the first Kirby Wii game! A random editor will be chosen. Naturally, there is a matter of Rules & Eligibility. Let's cover that!
*Must be 18, older, or have a parent/legal guardian's permission. A shipping address will be needed so it is important to consider.
*Create 5 articles (1.5 kb minimum contribution on your part) Naturally we'd like to give away the game to a potential editor. Link to your 5 articles in the talk page here. With well over a month, there's plenty of time and even more Wanted Pages.
*If outside of the US, upon winning, inform us of a web retailer that (1) accepts US orders and (2) sells a copy for your region. The contest will end upon the US release date, and a non-US region copy will be purchased and shipped at the earliest possible opportunity.
*Winner has 5 days to confirm award and send a shipping address via secure email; otherwise WiKirby will assume prize has been declined and select another random name.
*No plagiarism!-copy/pasting content from Wikipedia, Wikia, Kirbypedia, or any of the other Kirby wikis will be grounds for disqualification from the contest. Write your own articles.
*These rules are subject to change, as WiKirby staff becomes aware of any legal restrictions. (Entrants will be notified of any changes)
Moydowhttps://wikirby.com/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Kirbot&diff=25416User talk:Kirbot2014-09-27T23:25:13Z
Moydow: Reverted edits by Kirby kirby kirby kurbyyyyyyyyyyyy (talk) to last revision by KirBot

The Meta-Knights are a group of knights who are led by Meta Knight himself. They first appear in Kirby's Adventure, where they are fought as Mid-Bosses in seperate rooms. However, their biggest role is in Kirby Super Star (Ultra), in the Revenge of Meta Knight stage. They try to take over Dream Land, but get stopped by Kirby and his friends. The Meta-Knights have not made any big plans since then. Below is information on each Meta-Knight, but it is suggested to look at their respective pages for more information.
Ax Knight
Ax Knight basic appearance is that of a miniscule skull, sporting a viking helmet atop its head, and, respectively, wields an axe. Ax Knights normally appear in randomized areas. However, one particular Ax Knight assists Meta Knight in the main cabin of his starship, the Halberd.
These three all resemble robots, and could possibly be robots. Javelin Knight and Trident Knight can both fly, and they all use their respective weapons. Javelin Knight also looks like a robot octopus. Along with Ax Knights, these knights make up the actual mid-boss called "Meta-Knights", but they can also be fought one-on-one as a normal enemy.
Dyna Blade is a main boss in Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra. She appears as a beautiful, angelic bird adorned with gems, bright, colorful eyes, rainbow-hued feathers, and very sharp, steel-like claws and wings, with which she uses to attack Kirby. She also has a similar appearance to Ho-Oh, from the Pokémon series, because of her rainbow wings, and warm colors.
Game Appearances
Kirby Super Star/Kirby Super Star Ultra
In Kirby Super Star, and its remake, Dyna Blade has a sub-game named after her. In this sub-game, Dyna Blade steals all food from Dream Land (including Kirby's). After Kirby discovers this, he sets off to retrieve the stolen goods. Suprisingly, it turns out that Dyna Blade stole the food only to feed her chicks, not to be greedy. After Kirby helps feed her chicks, Dyna Blade befriends him, and aids him in Revenge of Meta Knight.

Kirby Air Ride
Dyna Blade appears in one event in City Trial mode of Kirby Air Ride. The game incorrectly refers to Dyna as a male.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Dyna Blade appears as a trophy and sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Anime
Dyna Blade appears in the anime, Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, as a minor character, appearing in episodes 7, 21 and 32. Unlike most characters, she makes almost every appearance in 3D. Dyna Blade is shown to be a legendary bird with metal wings and feathers, which explains why "blade" is in her name. She is said to be seen every 100 years. In her first appearance, King Dedede tricks Kirby into eating Dyna Blade's egg, which causes her to wreck havoc upon Cappy Town. However, it is found that Dyna Blade's baby had already hatched, and she forgives Kirby. After that she makes two cameos.

Trivia
*Dyna Blade's battle theme in Kirby Super Star Ultra, as well as that of Wham Bam Rock, is a remix of Castle Lololo's theme from Kirby's Dream Land, which is also used as Dyna Blade's theme in Kirby Air Ride.
*In Kirby Super Star Ultra, using the Crash ability on Dyna Blade will eliminate half of her maximum health.
*In Kirby's Epic Yarn, the character Hot Wings strongly resembles Dyna Blade.
