“ | You can ride this machine only in the Free Run mode of City Trial. It's really just a Warpstar with flight ability. It's best used for gliding practice. | ” | — Kirby Air Ride North American instruction booklet, page 34 |
The Flight Warpstar is a rideable machine in Kirby Air Ride. As its name implies, it is one of the best gliders available. The most unique trait of this machine is that it is only usable in City Trial's Free Run mode. The instruction manual indicates that its intended purpose is for practicing how to glide, and its flavor text suggests that it was merely a prototype design for the Warpstar.
Appearance[edit]
The Flight Warpstar appears much like the standard Warpstar. However, it is slightly more elongated, and is colored an orange-red hue, rather than yellow. In addition, it has additional propulsion jets on its wings.
Mechanics[edit]
Like its cousin, the Warpstar, the Flight Warpstar is average in most areas. Unlike its cousin, however, it has incredibly high gliding ability. While it does not accelerate in the air to the extent of other great gliders, like the Winged Star, it can reach heights and distances unmatched by ordinary machines. The only one which can hope to outdo it in those areas, without the aid of patches, is the legendary Dragoon.
This machine is almost identical to the Warpstar, outside of gliding. However, it does have a marginally higher acceleration, and slightly lower turning capability.
How to Unlock[edit]
The Flight Warpstar cannot be used in Air Ride, nor in City Trial. It can only be used in City Trial's Free Run, and is stored in the same basement with most of the game's other machines.
