Alright, it has been added to the rotation. --Samwell (talk) 15:39, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

[1] - A trailer for newest game, which I think is worthy to be put in rotation. Superbound (talk) 13:02, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

[2] - Trailer for a prototype of what would've become Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. This might be something worth documenting in the future. EleCyon (talk) 05:33, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

[3] - A North American commercial for Kirby: Mass Attack. I don't know if this is worth documenting, but here it is regardless. SirIncompetent(talk) 1:30, 13 April 2021 (EDT)

[4] - A North American commercial for Kirby's Pinball Land. –Wiz (talk · edits) 23:48, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

The featured content section is broken

The featured content section on here is broken because nobody keeps it up to date. We either need to get rid of it (that stuff is on the main page anyways) or have somebody dedicated to updating it. ---PinkYoshiFan 14:09, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

No no, not no mo'! --Samwell (talk) 15:39, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

'Kirby around the world'

Some members of the WiKirby Discord have been discussing the possibility of an article discussing the export of Kirby to various regions, especially regions where information may not be centralised in other English-language resources but may still be of interest to the wide WiKirby userbase. This would also potentially reduce confusion for users who want to research and contribute information about localisations but may run into historical peculiarities (eg the early Korean imports that use 카비/kabi instead of 커비/keobi due to context-free transliteration from Japanese).

It seemed to me (and I think others on the Discord wiki channel—I just don't want to put words in others' mouths) that given the likely necessity for a diverse set of users to contribute to an article like this, the best way to organise this would be via a new Project, analogous to something like Bulbapedia's Project Globe, except much smaller in scope since there are only the games and the one anime series (plus some very limited exports of the light novels) to deal with. So I'm putting something down in the actual wiki to try and collate ideas on what the scope would be and what editors would be able to contribute/research info for which regions. —willidleaway [talk | edits] 15:47, 6 February 2023 (UTC)

Posting quick just to say that I can contribute with coverage of my home country, Brazil, otherwise I can help with bits and pieces of notable countries. For example, did you know that there are some Kirby books only in French and Spanish? It's this one, although I don't have a Spanish link of it easily ready right now. But yeah, I wouldn't personally try to make each country section super lenghty, but I would give an overview, such as what games were localized to their home language/distributed, anime distribution, and any other additional media when applicable. I suspect the Japan section will be the biggest, but instead of going in much detail we should mention notable things and link to pages, such as Kirby Café and Kirby's Pupupu Market. - Gigi (talkedits) 16:30, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
Hundred times support for a Project like this! Other than having an overview of the series' presence in various regions of the world, it could also encourage stepping up efforts to covering less known missing bits of Kirby history (e.g. comics exclusive to German Club Nintendo). –Wiz (talk · edits) 16:53, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
Absolutely agree! Some of this information is really obscure and shining some light on it would definitely be an eye-opener for quite a lot of people, even those that never visit the site much or have never heard about the Kirby series a whole lot. And coming from someone who's intrigued on different movie and game translations for quite some time now, I'm very much looking forward to it. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 17:09, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
Making a page with more info on Kirby outside the USA is definitely a good idea, and I agree with Gigi on how it should cover things. ---PinkYoshiFan 19:47, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
I've tended to examine the Korean presence with some bemusement (owing to historical and cultural factors) and would be interested in contributing in that area. Overall by my reckoning people agree this is a good idea and are interested in contributing. Is this something that would benefit from organisation as a proper Project, or something that can just be given a skeleton and left for people to flesh out in time (à la something like the Cutscene article)? —willidleaway [talk | edits] 02:39, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
I think it would be fine as just a normal article (maybe mention it on this page though), although I'm not sure how it would go with the no new stubs policy, since this is (probably) not the sort of thing that one person could do on their own. ---PinkYoshiFan 16:15, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
IMO, that wouldn't really fall into the no new stubs policy, as it would be an article created with a bit of into that is actively worked on. As mentioned, it would be similar to Cutscene, which was created in progress. I guess the difference is that for this one it wouldn't be just one person working on it at first.
Also, I think we should create a "Kirby around the world" article, and if it ends up very big, we can then split it up per continent ("Kirby in the Americas", "Kirby in Asia", "Kirby in Europe" etc). But that is thinking ahead.
Anyway, if you all want, I can throw together a draft start of it and then move it to mainspace. Or someone else here can do it. - Gigi (talkedits) 16:20, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
I took the liberty of starting a draft here: User:WillIdleAway/Kirby around the worldwillidleaway [talk | edits] 16:59, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
Thank you! I think we can do some work then move it to mainspace, even if it's not complete. Just needs to first make it have a bit more information, in particular I would consider the Japan and USA sections to be priority, as Kirby is a Japanese series and this wiki is mostly based on the USA. - Gigi (talkedits) 17:06, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
