Split[edit]

So, it always seemed inconsistent to me that, despite Magolor Soul being an EX mode-exclusive boss with significantly different attack patterns, we cover Magolor's second form in Main Mode here as well; meanwhile almost every other Soul boss gets its own page (ex. Queen Sectonia (second form) and Soul of Sectonia. Magolor's second form is not Magolor Soul and is never referred to as such in the game, and despite the efforts to clarify this in mainspace, the article name continues to be misleading. If we don't split off Magolor's second form (which I think we should do for consistency), we should at least rename this article to remove the "Soul" part and focus primarily on the Main Mode variant, as we have done with every other EX boss in the game. --YFJ (talk · edits) 03:16, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Main issue is that unlike Queen Sectonia and Star Dream's final forms, there is very little difference between Magolor's final form in the main game and Magolor Soul aside from appearance and attack patterns. You probably could get away with splitting the article into Magolor Soul and Magolor (second form) (though I find that might make searching for the information a little more redundant than it should be), but I would strongly advise against removing the name Magolor Soul entirely because unlike the unnamed final form in the Main Game, Magolor Soul is an official term, and not using that name would make our coverage feel woefully incomplete to the reader. --Samwell (talk) 08:39, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
I'm not sure wether this should be split or not, but bump. ---PinkYoshiFan 15:03, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Both sides present interesting evidence, but I'm not sure which to go with... Bump. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 03:51, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
It does seem a bit redundant to split. However, I believe it would be best to split it. As long as we make certain the reader knows which from which, it should be fine. We can always merge the pages back if this doesn't work. -- Jellytost (talk) 20:52, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

So, yeah it's been a while since I started this discussion, but there's something I forgot to mention before: Void Soul and Void are both separate from Void Termina, and I don't think that's any different from Magolor's case. It just feels inconsistent to me. And to respond to Samwell's other point, while Magolor Soul is an official name, it's the official name for only part of the content covered on this page, and it just feels misleading to me to try to apply it to both. --YFJ (talk · edits) 20:57, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

In that case, I would suggest moving the main game version of Magolor's second form to the Magolor page, since technically they share the same name, and leave this page to discuss the Extra Mode version only. --Samwell (talk) 21:17, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan to me--I'm actually kinda surprised I didn't suggest that before. I'd like to see what others think. --YFJ (talk · edits) 21:20, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Makes sense, it's similar to the case with Marx soul: the main game pre and post transformation share a page and the soul version is seperate. ---PinkYoshiFan 21:26, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Yea. Sounds good to me. -- Jellytost (talk) 21:27, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
I also agree. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 21:46, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

If there are no further objections, I will go ahead and move the info. --YFJ (talk · edits) 22:24, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

Uh... I kinda already split it. Probably should have mentioned that here. ---PinkYoshiFan 22:27, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
Yep, just saw that. Thanks. --YFJ (talk · edits) 22:29, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
