Prism Plains is the first world in Kirby: Squeak Squad. It has a theme of grass, a common theme in beginner levels in many video games. One Ability Scroll is available in this level. The boss of this world is King Dedede. When Kirby completes the last level for the first time, he is instantly taken to the first level of Nature Notch, which is the next world.

Stages

Prism Plains-1

File:PrisimPlains-1.png
Kirby runs down the hillside in Stage 1.

Section 1: The level begins, as most first levels do, in a flat grassy plain. Determined to save his shortcake, Kirby sets off to the right, as he usually does. The first enemy to greet him is a Waddle Dee, who just waltzes back and forth. From there, the terrain gets a little hilly, and Kirby encounters a Waddle Doo, who can be swallowed for the Beam ability. After jumping over an outcrop of dirt, Castle Dedede becomes visible in the background, and a Sparky can be seen guarding the door to the next section.

Section 2: The door leads to another grassy area, with a slope leading up to the right. Ahead is a wall made of grass, with just a tiny opening at the bottom blocked off by a star block. From there, past a Hot Head, a small grotto appears under a walkway of star blocks. Under it is a cherry, which Kirby can get to recover a little health if he needs it. Then again, a snack is always welcome regardless of health. Near the end of the path, a small hill with an large star block inset can be seen. It can be destroyed using a Copy Ability, but if Kirby does not have one, he can Super Inhale to get rid of it. The door to the next section lies just beyond this obstacle.

Section 3: The door leads to the foot of a fairly tall cliff, bridged by soft platforms. On one of these platforms is a 1Up. The door to the next section lies just to the right on top of the cliff.

Section 4: The door leads to another open plain, through the ground is rockier. Past a couple enemies, a small pool can be found, into which a Maxim Tomato drops. From there, the path leads further right until a large Bomb Block barricade is found. After breaking through, the stage exit can be reached.

Kirby runs up another hillside in Stage 2.

Section 1: The stage begins in another grassy plain, looking very similar to Stage 1. Ahead, a Bubble containing the Sword ability can be found under a wall extruding from above. If Kirby swallows this, he can store the ability inside for later use. From there, the door to the next section is just to the right.

Section 2: The door leads to a path with thicker grass and a few trees. A Big Waddle Dee patrols just to the right. Further in, a few large grass tufts can be seen. Kirby can use the Sword ability to cut them. One in particular drops a cherry. The door to the next section lies further right, between more trees.

Section 3: The door leads to a small area in the plains with a soft platform suspended in the middle. Above this platform are two bubbles containing Food items. If Kirby combines these bubbles together, he can turn the two otherwise small food items into a single bubble containing a Maxim Tomato. The door to the next section is just to the right from here.

Section 4: The door leads to the top of a rocky passageway, which snakes downward. At the bottom, a Sword Knight guards the door to the next section.

Section 5: The door leads to a rocky plain, with some soft platforms floating above it. One top of the first platform is a Treasure Chest, which can be collected and stored in Kirby's stomach dimension. The path continues to the right, past more enemies and bumps in the road. Along the way, Kirby will encounter a number of bottomless pits, which he should deftly avoid falling into. The stage exit can be found at the end of the path, set inside a rocky outcrop.

Prism Plains-3

Kirby puts his Ice ability to good use over a lake in Stage 3.

Section 1: The stage begins in a deep forest area, with a path continuing to the right. A Flamer can be seen rolling around a small grass block platform over the ground. Using the Fire ability obtained from this creature can allow Kirby to burn down some of the tall grass ahead to yield some goodies. Behind one of the grass tufts is a doorway, leading to a side-room containing a 1Up. Further down the path, a fire block appears which, when hit, causes the ground ahead to scorch, clearing the enemies guarding the door to the next section.

Section 2: The door leads to an interior cliff area, with floors visible above. Kirby can transition between each floor using a series of ladders. Making his way upward past a Bubble containing the Fire ability, Mr. Frosty (or Tedhaun) awaits him at the top. Defeating this great force of evil opens the door to the next section.

Section 3: The door leads to a small grotto, which opens up to another section of forest, dotted by small lakes and Scarfies. The door to the next section lies just beyond the lakes.

Section 4: The door leads to another forest walkway, this one pocked with holes and Gordos inside them. After avoiding another bottomless pit, Kirby comes across a Gaw Gaw hopping in place. Swallowing it yields the Animal ability, which will allow Kirby to dig his way through a patch of soft dirt further ahead. Inside the dirt can be found a 1Up and a Treasure Chest. The door to the next section is further ahead, past the dirt sandbox.

Section 5: The door leads to a flat walkway. Further right is a small crevice with a large Chest inset. Picking it up triggers the appearance of the Squeaks, who appear behind Kirby and begin to chase him. Chief among them is Spinni, who will steal chests from Kirby if he hits him, then run into a grotto further right. Kirby can pursue Spinni into this grotto to recollect the chests, but will have to deal with a large number of Squeakers in the process. Inside the Grotto are also two Bubbles, one containing the Spark ability, and the other containing a ham. Back outside, the stage exit is located to the right, up a shallow cliff.

Prism Plains-4

Kirby battles Storo using the Animal ability in Stage 4.

Section 1: The stage begins in a flat rocky plain. Just to the right, a small hill yields a Warp Star, which will take Kirby to Castle Dedede, once again in the background.

Section 2: The Warp Star lands on a paved stone walkway. To the right, a Pengy guards the decorated entrance to the castle itself. A Bubble containing a cherry lies just to the right of the door leading into the castle.

Section 3: The door leads into a small room with a switch inside. Pressing the switch opens the door to rooms further right. The remaining rooms are connected in a linear fashion by ladders, and hold various guards. The door to the next section lies at the bottom-right, at the end of this path.

Section 4: The door leads to a narrow interior hallway. A Sword Knight waits in ambush behind a barricade of star blocks (it would be an effective trap if Kirby could not see behind them anyway). The hall opens into a wider room, patrolled by a Heavy Knight. In the ceiling of this room is an opening to a small attic containing a lovely portrait of a Waddle Dee. Oh, there's also a Treasure Chest in there. Further right, another star block barricade opens up to a room with a ladder leading upward. More Sword Knights vie to slice at Kirby as he climbs the ladder, so they will have to be dealt with. The door to the next section lies at the top of the ladder.

Section 5: The door leads to a stony hallway. Pressing the switch ahead removes a barrier and also drops for Kirby an Invincibility Candy, which he can use to steamroll through the enemies up ahead. This will also allow him to walk through the spike pits unhindered and safely collect the chest inside one of the pits on the path. At the end, if Kirby is still invincible, he can slide past a Gordo to collect another bubble containing a cherry before proceeding through the doorway.

Section 6: The door leads to a single large room in the castle. Above Kirby's head is a large chest suspended atop a star block platform. Also visible up to the right is a bobble containing the Fire ability. Destroying the Bomb Block next to this bubble opens a path upward, which will lead to the stage exit. However, if the chest is collected, Storo will appear in the room and attempt to steal it. Kirby will then have to fight Storo and beat him before he can leave. If Kirby does get his treasure stolen, he will have to pursue Storo into his hideout castle, which also appears in the room with him. Doing so will result in having to fight off many baddies in order to get the treasure back.

Kirby uses the Tornado ability to destroy a barrel in Stage 5.

The stage begins inside a storage room. To the right, a Hot Head guards a ladder going up. Above are several large barrels, which Kirby can bust open with the Fire ability to obtain some items. After several levels of barrels, the stage exit can be found to the right, past a barrier that can be lowered by pressing a switch in the middle of the room. However, there is a hidden chest up above, inside another barrel.

Prism Plains-Boss: King Dedede

File:PrismPlains-KingDedede.png
Kirby goes wild on King Dedede using the Tornado ability.

The stage begins in a chamber adorned with King Dedede's visage. The door leading to the throne room lies in the middle, though the Beam and Ice abilities can be obtained in Bubbles in this room.

Inside the throne room itself is King Dedede, standing before a strange whirring machine. He wastes no time in attacking Kirby, as usual whenever he is disturbed. The fight plays out as it usually does, with Dedede swinging his hammer, jumping about, and occasionally tripping. Defeating him completes the stage, and the level, and also nets Kirby a Boss Battle Badge. If this was the first time Dedede was defeated, a cut-scene is also triggered here, which then leads directly to the first stage of the next level, Nature Notch.

Prism Plains-Ex

File:PrismPlains-Ex.png
Kirby admires some pillars in Stage EX.

This level, like other Ex levels in the game, is accessible only if the key is gained.

Section 1: The stage begins in the castle interior, with the room openly connected to a hall to the right. Bouncing just up ahead is a Maiga, which Kirby should not attempt to Inhale. From there, a Biospark can be found in the next room, which can grant the Ninja ability if swallowed. Further right, the door to the next section can be found past some Battys.

Section 2: The door leads to a narrow hallway decked out with furniture. Crawling along a bookcase is a Crimp, which will shoot green explosive projectiles at Kirby if he gets too close. The path snakes downward, then upward through more halls and ladders containing more enemies, The door to the next section can be found at the right end of the path.

Section 3: The door leads to a lavish hall where a Twister guards the way forward. From there, Kirby can use the Tornado ability to wreak havoc on the enemies in the hall ahead. The door to the next section can be found at the right end of the hall, under a huge barricade of star blocks.

Section 4: The door leads to the bottom of a tall vertical chute in the castle. A Starman is hopping around this area, which Kirby can use to obtain the Hi-Jump ability, in order to make his ascent easier. As he ascends, Kirby will want to take care to travel on the left side, or else he will miss an optional doorway leading to a room with a Chest inside. The door to the next section can be found at the top of the chamber, to the right.

Section 5: The door leads to an exterior area, along the top of the castle walls. The path continues to the right past some floating enemies. Further down the path, Kirby will have to contend with some Shotzos as he hops over the crenelations. From there, it's a dash across crumbling walkways over bottomless pits to reach the door to the next section.

Section 6: The door leads to an open area with many interspaced platforms. One in particular is moving to the right, carrying with it a large Treasure Chest. Kirby will have to chase after it if he wants to obtain the chest for himself, but collecting it will cause the Squeaks to appear, led this time by Doc in a U.F.O. Kirby can proceed directly to the stage exit, which is located up and to the right if he wishes to avoid the encounter. However, defeating Doc will net Kirby a good deal of food items, and, when defeated for the first time, Kirby can steal his U.F.O. to gain that particular ability. Should Kirby have to enter any of the hideouts that appear, he will be onset by several Squeakers.

Trivia

  • Castle Dedede resembles its appearance from the anime, Kirby: Right Back At Ya!. Additionally, the whirring machine in the background of the fight with King Dedede is likely the same one that he uses to summon monsters with in said anime.
