Javelin Knight is a hovering robotic member of the mid-boss group Meta-Knights which first appeared in Kirby's Adventure that holds javelins and swings them around. It can be inhaled like any other enemy, but does not give Kirby an ability.

Javelin Knight appears to be entirely robotic, with no real limbs to speak of, and only a slit visor that glows red or yellow to pass for a 'face'. It is also the only Meta-Knight capable of hovering, and can also bounce around the place with high and graceful jumps. It will attack either by swinging its javelin around as it bounces, or by shooting it at Kirby.

Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

Javelin Knight debuts as a member of the Meta-Knights in Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. It is fought alongside the other group members Axe Knight, Trident Knight, and Mace Knight. It appears more rarely than the other three, but can usually be seen either hopping through the air while spinning a javelin around, or hovering in place and throwing its javelins in an arc toward Kirby. It is not particularly hardy when compared to the other Meta-Knights, and can be defeated easily with an inhale or a Copy Ability attack.

Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra

Javelin Knight re-appears in Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra with a similar role to that of its previous outing.

Unlike Axe Knight and Mace Knight, Javelin Knight has no dialogue in Revenge of Meta Knight.

Kirby Mass Attack

In Kirby Mass Attack, Javelin Knight is fought alongside Mace Knight at the end of Stage 4 in the sub-game Strato Patrol EOS.

Javelin Knight also appears in the Kirby Quest sub-game. Similarly to Strato Patrol EOS, it is battled with the rest of the Meta-Knights in Chapter 3.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

Javelin Knight makes a cameo in the Kirby: Planet Robobot sub-game Meta Knightmare Returns. When Meta Knight uses his Meta Knightmares attack, Javelin Knight appears with the rest of the Meta-Knights to defeat all on-screen foes.

Javelin Knight also appears as a sticker, taking its art from Kirby Super Star.

In the Kirby novel series, Javelin Knight is one of the four members of the Meta-Knights, a group of loyal servants who work for Meta Knight as the main combatants of the Battleship Halberd. He is usually grouped with the others, and does very little to stand out. The text never acknowledges Javelin Knight's ability to float, even though the illustrations clearly show him floating.

Volume appearances

The following is a complete list of every appearance Javelin Knight has made in the Kirby novel series, along with the role he plays and its details in the plot of each volume:

Volume Image Role Role details Notes
Kirby: Big Race in Pupupu Land! V5 Javelin Knight Illustration.png Tertiary supporting character In this volume, Javelin Knight is one of the many contestants in the big race held in Dream Land, along with the other three Meta-Knights. When the racers are choosing their machines, Axe Knight chooses the Shadow Star. The other Meta-Knights get jealous, and they board the machine too. The four of them fight over the machine as it unstably cruises along. Throughout the rest of the race, Javelin Knight is usually grouped with the other contestants without standing out. During the singing contest, Javelin Knight starts singing after King Dedede's bad performance. Javelin Knight sings with all his feelings in a sweet voice. He successfully matches the song perfectly, but he does not sing loud enough to win the contest.
Kirby: Uproar at the Kirby Café?! V18 Javelin Knight Illustration.png Tertiary supporting character In this volume, like the other Meta-Knights, Javelin Knight is excited by the thought of trying the desserts of the cooking competition. Meta Knight agrees to let the Meta-Knights taste the dishes, but only if they think of it as part of their training. Javelin Knight comes on the day of the competition with Meta Knight and wonders with the others what dish will win each round.
