Gigabyte Grounds (known in Japan as Gigant Ground) is the fourth level of Kirby: Planet Robobot. It has five regular stages, a boss stage, and an EX stage. The level takes place largely in a desert environment, but contains a factory, and a laboratory like the previous levels. There are eighteen Code Cubes to collect in this level, with three in every stage except the Boss one. The boss is Mecha Knight.

Stages

Note that the following synopsis focuses on Kirby's playthrough in the main Story Mode. In Meta Knightmare Returns, some sections are not played at all, and the remaining sections are played in one long continuous run.

Stage 1

Kirby takes his trusty Parasol past some large rolling bars in Stage 1.

Section 1: The stage begins out in a dusty desert landscape, as Haltmann Works drills for oil, and keeps it nice and slushy inside giant blenders. Kirby will have to make his way across dunes and pipes to reach the next area.

Section 2: This area has Kirby running past several rolling bars that are apt to squish him.

Section 3: This area contains an extensive number of large wooden logs, which Kirby must maneuver around. On the other side, a suit of Robobot Armor can be commandeered to smash these logs. If done correctly, Kirby can clear a path to take a Battery to the other side and unlock a Code Cube cache.

Section 4: This area features more tall suspended dunes. A side-chamber can be accessed here which leads to another Code Cube.

Section 5: This area features more rolling bars and dunes. The unique Sticker can be found here. Along the way, another Robobot Armor suit can be found, and used to punch away the rolling bars. Done successfully, this will yield the last Code Cube, just before the stage exit.

Stage 2

Kirby jets past some toxic clouds in Stage 2.

Section 1: Out in the desert once more, Kirby must contend with teetering flame-spouts and a continuous current pushing him forward.

Section 2: Here, Kirby must climb a long vertical grate, as fans push clouds of toxic gas past him. A Code Cube can be collected along the way.

Section 3: This area begins with a battle with Miasmoros in an arena with a mild wind current. From there, a cache of items can be unlocked using the Mid-Boss's power.

Section 4: This area is a tall dune stuffed with all sorts of fans. An optional doorway can be accessed using the power of smog, which will lead to another Code Cube and possibly something else as well. The unique Sticker can be found here if Kirby is particularly adventurous.

Section 5: This area is a long haul through more flame spouters, wind currents and gas clouds. The last Code Cube can be collected from inside one of these clouds. The stage exit lies not far from that point.

Stage 3

Kirby rides the conveyors with a 3-D Laser Bar in Stage 3.

Section 1: The stage begins in a large open interior space; a factory with dim green lighting. The path begins after Kirby uses a Rube-Goldberg-like contraption to open the door. A pipe past a series of enemies on conveyor belts will lead to the next room.

Section 2: In this area, more conveyor belts will bring in enemies for Kirby to contend with. A unique Sticker can be collected in this room if Kirby takes some time to reflect.

Section 3: More conveyor belts, though this time Kirby can step on them directly. A 3-D Laser Bar is found in this room, which is needed to grab a Code Cube from the background.

Section 4: Kirby will have to contend with Dubior to start off with, in a small room with a conveyor belt in the middle. From there, Kirby can use Dubior's power to charge up a battery in the next hall, then use it to power a device which will (eventually) yield a Code Cube.

Section 5: This area is another conveyor hallway, this time with Steam Hammers swinging from the ceiling. Along the way, some Batteries can be manipulated to unlock an optional doorway which will yield the last Code Cube and some other goodies. The stage exit can be found past this point at the end of a particularly quick conveyor belt.

Stage 4

Kirby blasts his way through the lab in Stage 4.

Prelude: Like previous labs, this stage starts out outside the laboratory, and Kirby must enter via the screw-thread ramp.

Section 1: Inside the lab, Kirby gets a hold of some Robobot Armor, than absorbs a Capsule J3 to enter Jet Mode then take off at once.

Section 2: The first flying section involves shooting down Security Laser turrets and other nuisances. The first Code Cube can be collected once the lasers guarding it are offline.

Section 3: In this section, Kirby will need to fly through the correct series of passages, as indicated by a TV screen at the beginning to get the next Code Cube.

Section 4: Quarters get tighter in this section, as Kirby shoots down Prism Ball traps and opens gates with Switches. The unique Sticker can be collected here after its barrier is removed. Further in, the last Code Cube can be collected by firing backwards.

Section 5: Here, Kirby does battle again with C.O.G.S.. However, there is a twist this time around. Once this encounter is cleared, Kirby can move forward to the last area, and clear the stage after crashing his Jet.

Stage 5

Kirby takes aim with a Gordo Catapult in Stage 5.

Section 1: Returning to the factory, this stage begins with a series of pits, which can be closed by breaking bomb blocks in the ceiling. Further in, Kirby will need to do battle with Telepathos.

Section 2: In this area, Kirby will need to control a robotic duplicate in the background. Done correctly, this will unlock an optional doorway that reveals a suit of Robobot Armor.

Section 3: This area splits off, with one path accessible only by the Robobot Armor. The lower path is a Boomstepper challenge that yields a Code Cube at the end.

Section 4: This room leads downward, with a particular advantage to Kirby if he has the Robobot Armor still. At the bottom, an optional doorway can be accessed which will yield another Code Cube.

Section 5: This area is full of Steam Hammers, but they are no match for the Robobot Armor. The unique Sticker can be collected in this room. At the end, the last Code Cube can be collected using the armor one more time.

Stage 6 (Boss: Mecha Knight)

File:Mecha Knight.jpg
Mecha Knight is activated.

At least six Code Cubes are needed to break the firewall to this stage.

The stage begins inside the factory. Past a conveyor and through a pipe, Bandana Waddle Dee gives Kirby a food item in the next room. Through another pipe, the Ninja, Sword and Jet abilities are available on Copy Pedestals. From there, one more pipe leads to the boss door.

Taking the door leads to an open battlefield doused in red light. Susie appears again, singing praises to President Haltmann, then noticing Kirby entering the room, she addresses him. She then tells him nonchalantly about her newest acquisition, bringing in a subdued and mechanized version of Meta Knight, who she designates as Model #M-7110, otherwise known as Mecha Knight. She activates him, and then leaves the arena for them to duke it out.

Mecha Knight fights much like his old self, but uses a laser Galaxia and can fire beams from it, as well as fire missiles from his pack. He is also able to generate an electric field around himself and fire massive lasers from his visor.

On defeat, Mecha Knight crashes, staggers for a moment, then falls backward into a chasm and explodes, leaving Kirby to do his dance and proceed to the next level, Rhythm Route.

Stage 7 EX

Kirby punches a rolling bar using his Armor in Stage EX.

All 15 Code Cubes from the previous stages are required to unlock this one.

Section 1: The stage begins in the laboratory. The way forward is cut using battery-powered saws.

Section 2: Moving to the factory, Kirby must now dodge more Steam Hammers along the path.

Section 3: In this room, Kirby must contend with fans and toxic clouds. An optional doorway leads to an encounter with Bonkers 2.0, but Kirby can shout him down to get a unique Sticker in here.

Section 4: Kirby returns to the dunes to contend with more rolling bars. To help him clear the way, a suit of Robobot Armor can be recovered in this room. Using it correctly will allow Kirby to get a Code Cube.

Section 5: This wind-swept path will carry Kirby through many dangers. Along the way, some chains will need to be cut to clear the way to the next Code Cube.

Section 6: Back in the lab, Kirby can battle Blocky 2.0 using the Robobot Armor. With that done, the last Code Cube can be collected, and the stage completed.
