Blockin is an enemy that debuts in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror and returns in Kirby: Squeak Squad, where it looks and acts the same but only appears twice, in Gamble Galaxy, and Jam Jungle. It resembles an orange block with rounded edges, which possesses a grumpy looking face with glowing eyes and no nose.

Attempting to catch Kirby by surprise, Blockins initially disguise themselves as Star Blocks. However, once Kirby either attempts to inhale them or attacks them without causing enough damage to immediately destroy them, they reveal their true shape and begin to fly after Kirby in a similar manner as a Scarfy, opening and closing their mouth. If a Blockin manages to bump into Kirby, it reduces his health by one bar and reverts back to a Star Block. Although Blockins cannot be inhaled, they are vulnerable to all other attacks, as well as self-destructing if Kirby avoids them for a few seconds.

Trivia

In Kirby Squeak Squad, When killed without revealing them (such as attacks that kill blockin with one hit), they die and leave an invisible solid block for a few seconds, probably because of a glitch on its solid interaction doesn't disappear the instant they die.
