Batamon is an elusive Kirby-like creature which first appeared in Kirby's Dream Land 3. Although it is pink like Kirby and of a similar shape, it possesses a few differences; most notably, its eyes are smaller, beadier, and significantly further apart than those of Kirby. It is also not as round as Kirby, and does not appear to share his abilities, instead simply acting like a Waddle Dee. Batamon grants no Copy Ability when swallowed.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby's Dream Land 3[edit]
Batamon makes its only appearance as an enemy in Kirby's Dream Land 3. In most levels where it is found, Batamon cannot be reached directly, as it likes to appear behind walls and in exterior spaces where Kirby cannot go. In some instances, it can be defeated using long-range attacks like Pitch-Spark, but this does not help Kirby in any way.
There is, however, one place where Kirby can meet up with Batamon in the same room. In Stage 3 of Cloudy Park, there is a hidden passageway behind the cloud wall at the 'end' of the stage, which Kirby can take to enter a room with a Batamon inside. In addition to this accessible Batamon, there are a bunch more of them occupying side-chambers that are inaccessible. Despite all of the trouble Kirby has to go through to meet up with a Batamon, he may be disappointed to find that there does not appear to be anything special about it, as it acts exactly like a Waddle Dee would, and grants no special abilities or bonus if inhaled or otherwise defeated.
