Kirby's Animal Friends are a group of characters debuting in Kirby's Dream Land 2. While they originally only consisted of Rick the hamster, Kine the sunfish and Coo the owl, Kirby's Dream Land 3 introduced three more friends: Chuchu the octopus, Nago the cat and Pitch the bird. In most of their appearances, these characters are able to help Kirby in some way, usually by enabling him to team up with them, granting him new skills and enhancing his Copy Abilities. They also appear in the anime.
