Stone is among the simplest and most straightforward of Kirby's Copy Abilities, though it has a lot of variants and emergent uses. In its simplest form, Kirby transforms into a solid immobile object which is affected only by gravity. In this state, Kirby becomes immune to all but the strongest enemy attacks, though this is counterbalanced by the fact that his movement options become extremely limited if not completely absent. Due to the amount of time it often takes for Kirby to use his Stone Change, whether turning into the stone or transforming back to normal, it is often impractical to use Stone offensively, particularly during boss fights. When transformed, Stone Kirby falls extremely quickly, which is useful for certain vertical stage sections, but Kirby should be careful not to fall too far in many places, as he might be lost to a [[bottomless pit]] before he can change back.
